Iggy Pop at the Northrup Auditorium

Last night was the Iggy Pop | Post Pop Depression show in Minneapolis at the beautiful Northrup Auditorium on the University of Minnesota campus. I will admit, I didn’t take many photos as I was with a complete social media phobe. I will share the one I took. God damn, I love Iggy Pop. He’s still an amazing performer after all these years. I will admit, there was something that felt restrictive by being in a theater setting seeing him rather than seeing him at the legendary First Avenue.  As much as I dislike the element of getting squashed in a mosh pit, the energy in the room was more restrained than in shows I have seen of Iggy’s in the past. Of course, at age 68, this is possibly his last tour. You’d never know it. He was still his usual frenetic self – only taking a few breaks during the set to rest, drink water and get back on stage and shake it. Iggs, if you ever do an acoustic tour or even if you just want to read the back of a toilet paper roll, I’ll be down in front, hanging on every word.
