Friday Night Five – January 13, 2017

Thanks for stopping by this week’s Friday Night Five. I was traveling most of this week, so I wasn’t able to pull together a normal playlist. So, I decided it was time for a usual suspects night. The usual suspects are bands that have always been on Strawberry Tongue Radio and always will be. These are our personal favorite tracks, not necessarily their most commercially successful. Each of these bands create a sound that embodies the aesthetic of Strawberry Tongue. Tonight’s theme leans more towards the gothic and dark sounds of the 80’s and early 90’s.

  • The Cure
  • Cocteau Twins
  • Siouxsie and the Banshees
  • Lowlife
  • Sisters of Mercy
  • Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds

That’s it for this week’s edition of the Friday Night Five. Be sure to tune in to Strawberry Tongue Radio at 19:00, 21:00 and 23:00 EDT to hear selected tracks from each of these bands and be sure to visit their websites for more information about their latest work and to purchase their tracks. Friday Night Five also re-airs on Saturday and Sundays at 1:00/3:00/5:00/19:00/21:00/23:00 EST/EDT.

Be sure to listen to Strawberry Tongue Radio to hear our unique playlist featuring current and classic artists playing post punk, new wave, indie, electronic and experimental music.
